Rainbow Sprinkles

This is a really old manicure. I couldn't find the pictures for it for a while, and when they finally showed back up on my computer, I was well into the I-don't-wanna-post phase. But hey, I actually have the names of all the polishes I used!!

The white base was done in Milani Whitest White. The red dots on the thumb are done in China Glaze Salsa, and the glitter they're dotted with is Pure Joy. Orange is brought to you by Wet N Wild, The Clock Strikes Orange, and glitter-fied with Linderella's Cauldron Drippings. The middle fingers used Sinful Colors Exotic Green and Green Ocean, while the ring fingers are done in China Glaze Frostbite topped with Blackheart Royally Screwed. Last, but not least, the pinkies are dotted with Wet N Wild Who Is Ultra Violet and topped with dots of Max Factor Fantasy Fire. Phew, that's quite a list!

I didn't take pictures of the right hand, as it looked nearly identical to the left hand. Dotting tools balance the skill, or lack thereof, between the abilities of the dominant and non-dominant hands! I did take a handful of different pictures, at different angles and focus to show the pretty glitters as best I could.

Ice Ice Baby

The problem with putting off writing a blog post about a manicure is that you forget what was in your mind when you actually did it. I wrote the post subject when I saved the pictures and the polish names, but I have no clue what I intended for it to mean. I'm sure I had something witty to put here, but alas, you shall have to go without.

I started with a base of Sinful Shine Break Away, and covered it with Blackheart Royally Screwed. I used Sally Hansen Celeb City and a striping brush to draw a few stripes, and a small dotting tool to add some dots in places. I really enjoyed having this pretty glitter combo on my nails. The blue was so bright and the glitter kept catching my attention!

Hearts Two Ewes

I don't actually celebrate Valentine's Day (I'd rather have flowers in a random day in March than on a specific day because everybody else is doing it) but for my co-workers' enjoyment, mainly, I do actually have hearts on my fingernails. That and I just really love the two red glitters I used!

I apologize for the quality, or lack thereof, of the pictures in this post. I just could not for the life of me get these nails to photograph well. I took a couple dozen pictures, like normal, and that normally gives me about 6-8 decent pics, but this manicure? Zero decent pics. Here are two of the best...

The base color is Rimmel London Burgundy Flirt. The hearts are outlined with Milani Whitest White. The glitter used on the index and middle fingers is Cherimoya Love Potion #Mine and on the ring and pinkie finger is Blackheart Beautiful Revenge. I love their glitters and the skull-shaped bottles don't hurt! They're adorable. ^_^

Presents Under the Tree

I started with a base of Sally Hansen Celeb City. The trees are done in Sinful Shine Amazonian, the stars at the top were fished out of Wet N Wild Hollywood Walk of Fame, and the ornaments are a coat of Blackheart Party Action.Oh, and the garland was done with China Glaze I Herd That. The presents are done in China Glaze Cranberry Splash and Frostbite.

Gilded Chateau

Even the most enjoyable of a hobby becomes a pain from time to time. There are days when you know what? I really don't feel like doing my nails. But now everybody at work knows me for my nail art, I would feel...decidedly odd going to work with naked nails, or even a plain manicure. So this is what happens when you really don't feel like thinking much about your manicure. And yet, oddly enough, it frequently happens that I get more compliments on the designs I spent the least amount of time or thinking on.

I started with a base of Color Club Take Me to Your Chateau, and added two coats of BlackHeart Royally Screwed on my accent nails. I then drew little designs with a detail brush and Sally Hansen Gilded Pearl Chrome. I drew over the arcs and circles with Sinful Colors All About You, while leaving the side dots or swirls alone. It's a subtle difference that doesn't really show up well in the pictures, but I liked it.
